Barber Pole Design#DES231#A2

When everyone hears the "barbershop", I believe that many people's first impression is the "spiral three-colour lamp" at the entrance of the barbershop. Obviously, the barber pole composed of three colors of red, white and blue has become an important symbol of haircut industry.

Nowadays, there seems to be no breakthrough or innovation in the design of barber poles. With the passage of time, there are more and more barber shops choose to abandon the use of this design’s barber pole. At the same time, the color of the barber pole has changed from the original meaningful red, white and blue to the meaningless colorful. Therefore, I decided to redesign the barber bar.

In this design, I still chose the classic red, white and blue as the color of the barber bar, because these three colors have a deep meaning. In the Middle Ages, barbers were also surgeons, and they treated and shaved their heads. They placed red, white and blue poles as signs outside the store. Red represents arteries, blue represents veins, and white represents bandages.

The shape of a traditional hairdressing bar adopts an ordinary cylinder. In order to

make the barber pole technological, I modified the barber pole with streamlined lines.

The reason for using streamlined lines is because I think of the "waves and S-type " of people's hair. As Abraham Lincoln said, “The best way to predict the future is to

create it.” Thus, I also made a guess about the fixing method of the barber pole. I

think that in the future, magnetic levitation technology will be used in many products in our lives, so the barber bar in the future can also use this technology to float in the air.

In addition, I have used luminous material for the upper part of the barber pole. It glows at night, it will look very cool. In the lower part of the barber bar, I have designed some luminous little red balls that can be suspended in the air. These balls can jump with the rotation of the barber bar, which increases the flexibility of the barber bar. In general, I believe that many barbershops will like this design and apply

some of the creativity to reality
